NOTE: Anchor/Spotify for Podcasters previously enabled automatic distribution of your podcast. Your podcast was thus also placed on Spotify and Apple with the click of a button. Because of this automatic distribution, you will not have access to Apple's dashboard and you will soon not be able to submit your move there. Therefore, claim ownership of your podcast on Apple before you start the move (you do this with your current RSS-feed). Have you previously submitted the podcast yourself on Apple? Then claiming is not necessary. For Spotify, follow the steps in this article.
1. Import your podcast
Follow these steps to first import all episodes from Anchor/Spotify for Podcasters
1. Go to your Springcast account
2. Click 'Import podcast' in the top right corner.
3. Enter your current RSS-feed from Anchor/Spotify for Podcasters and click the button to start the import.
4. Check that all the podcast data has been imported correctly.
2. Export your statistics
It makes sense to save the statistics that you have already built up at Anchor/Spotify for Podcasters for yourself. You do this just before you arrange the move to Springcast so that the statistics are still up-to-date. You will not take these stats with you to Springcast.
1. Go to https://podcasters.spotify.com/
2. Click 'Log in' and log in with your Anchor/Spotify for Podcasters account. As of June 2024, Spotify will ask you to change your Anchor account to a Spotify account, if you haven't already done so you can click 'Haven't updated your account yet? Sign in with your Anchor details'. Go through the steps.
3. Click on your podcast in the left-hand bar
4. Click on 'Analysis'
5. Click 'Export to CSV' if you want to export certain statistics. If necessary, you can also export your statistics per episode.
3. Copy the Springcast RSS-feed
Follow these steps to copy your Springcast RSS-feed. You will need it to pass on the move to Anchor/Spotify for Podcasters.
1. Once the import is complete, click on the podcast you just imported into Springcast.
2. Now go to the 'Distribution' tab and click the 'Copy' button next to the RSS-feed.
NOTE: Did you use the option in Anchor/Spotify for Podcasters to compile the artwork of your podcast? Then there is probably still an Anchor logo on the artwork, even if it has been moved to Springcast. You can upload new artwork in Springcast under 'Podcast settings'.
4. Submit the move to Anchor/Spotify for Podcasters
NOTE: after placing the redirect, the statistics in Spotify for Podcasters will be set to 0 at episode level. Should you want to keep these statistics, make sure you create an export before placing the redirect. Your general show-level data, such as streams, listeners and followers, will be retained and continue after placing the redirect.
NOTE: After placing the redirect, your episode URLs and Spotify's embedded players will change. Your show URL on Spotify will remain the same. Do you use these URLs? After placing the redirect, make sure you quickly replace them with the new Spotify URLs or the URLs from Springcast. The Spotify URLs will not be available until you have placed the redirect, so you can only replace them after the move. If you use Springcast URLs and players, however, you can replace them before the move.
Now is the time to submit the move to Anchor/Spotify for Podcasters. Please read the following steps carefully.
3. Click on your podcast in the left-hand bar in the dashboard
4. Click on settings
5. Scroll down until you see 'Redirect your podcast'? and paste Springcast RSS-feed under 'Redirect URL'
6. Anchor/Spotify for Podcasters processes the move

6. Check the move in Spotify or claim podcast with other Spotify account
You can manage your podcast on Spotify using the data you logged in with in step 4. Just check that the RSS-feed from Anchor/Spotify has been replaced by that of Springcast.
1. Click on your podcast in the left bar
2. Go to 'settings
3. Scroll down to 'RSS-feed' and 'Licensor/hosting platform'
4. Check that you see the Springcast RSS-feed there and that Springcast is listed under Licensor /Hosting provider. Is this not the case? Then click 'update', enter your RSS-feed and select Springcast.
Would you rather link access to your podcast on Spotify to another Spotify account? Then you can claim the podcast with that desired account on Spotify. Read how here. Make sure you claim the podcast with Springcast's (new) RSS-feed.
